One of the most important consciousness – health and fitness – among the people who stay in cities all around the globe. So, a “Marathon” fits the scenario perfectly to gather people of like-mindedness for a cause.
IEEE UVCE is organizing “Centenary Marathon” on third Sunday of February, ie, 19th February, 2017 near College campus, in association with VisionUVCE. The entire plan is in initial stage and we are working on it to make it as publicized as possible. The students will get involved in it once they are done with the examinations.
We are also aware of the senior alumni who would like to be part of it. Hence, a “Walkathon” will also be organized.
The plan is to conduct it early in the morning, starting around 6 AM on Sunday morning and meeting back at the college campus by 8 AM (maximum). We have couple of routes in mind, both within 4 KM of distance. We will work with the authorities regarding the feasible routes and update it shortly.
We intend to start the Registrations for the event by January. We request the alumni to sponsor one student atleast along with them, so that we will have maximum student participate in it as well. The details of the registration choices will be published shortly. Here are the things planned:
- Warm-up exercise and relaxing exercises before and after the run respectively.
- Special T-shirts for the Registered runners/walkers.
- Breakfast @ college campus with photography session.
